What We Support

Advancing Personalized Medicine in Lithuania

Personalized medicine is recognized worldwide as one of the key directions in the development of biomedical sciences and healthcare.

Personalized medicine is a healthcare model in which prevention, diagnostics and treatment are tailored to each individual, taking into account their genetic and other biological characteristics, lifestyle, environment and health data.

To help create the conditions for the development of personalized medicine in Lithuania, the Future Biomedicine Foundation supports:

1. the growth and professional development of talent – the Foundation’s main priority;
2. research projects with the potential to drive a meaningful breakthrough in personalized medicine.

We also carry out activities aimed at improving public health literacy.

SUPPORTING TALENT DEVELOPMENT

The Foundation continuously accepts applications for support aimed at the growth of researchers and specialists in the following areas:

1. studies abroad;
2. professional development and internships abroad;
3. participation in high-level international conferences;
4. organization of conferences and visits by invited lecturers to Lithuania.

The Foundation also awards annual prizes:
1. to young researchers for the best scientific work in the field of personalized medicine – in cooperation with the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences;
2. for the best master’s theses in the field of personalized medicine;
3. for the best poster and PITCH presentations in personalized medicine at various conferences.

SUPPORTING RESEARCH PROJECTS

The Foundation welcomes innovative research project ideas with the potential to create a significant breakthrough in the field of personalized medicine. There is no separate call for these applications – they may be submitted on a rolling basis.

We also support the establishment of new personalized medicine laboratories and research groups.

If you have an innovative research project idea, are a Lithuanian researcher abroad working in the field of personalized medicine and considering returning to Lithuania, or would like to invite a foreign scientist or personalized medicine expert to join your team, we invite you to submit an application or contact us by email or phone. We will discuss possible forms of cooperation and support.

All applications submitted for funding are assessed promptly, impartially and in accordance with clearly defined and publicly available criteria. Transparency and accountability help us ensure trust, responsible use of funds and the prevention of potential conflicts of interest.
